Entered her eternal home with Jesus on "Valentines Day." Temporarily leaving behind her beloved husband of 25 years, Billy Ray Mayfield. Born June 14, 1952 in Guery, Ok. To Eunice & Alan Montgomery. She was a farmer's daughter. Moving to Perris, CA. when she was young, her parents farmed the land in and around the area. She was Manager/Supervisor of Gimmels Medical Supply for 15 years. Sewing was one of the many things she enjoyed and spending time with her husband. They met in 1982 & had a long courtship, and married in 1987. He says "in his mind", he considered her his wife the first time they met. In 2004 she had a heart attack. That is when her health began to decline. Bill Ray attends "House of Grace" Church, and while Brenda was not feeling well enough to attend, the congregation prayed for her quite often. She was a "feisty" gal and fought it till the end. He husband rarely left her side, taking great pride in caring for her every need. Reading the Bible to her every night was a comfort to her. She was a loving Mother, very dependable, precise, loved her god and all of her acquired "stuff." Very competitive! Her husband quit making "bets" with her as she was always raising the stakes. Her favorite football team was the "Minnesota Vikings." "She was a winner" says Billy Ray. "Yes she was". She is survived by 2 sons: Thomas & Steven Henson; 3 brothers: Ricky, Timothy & Mike Montgomery; 1 sister: Sandy Heinz, all of Hemet. And of course Billy Ray Mayfield, her husband. Viewing will be held at Hemet Valley Mortuary on Saturday, February 23rd from 3:30 to 5:30 pm with Graveside Services at Riverside National Cemetery on Monday, February 25th at 10:30, staging area #3, followed at 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at The House of Grace, 44085 Florida Ave. Hemet, CA.
