With her loving family at her side, Mary Elizabeth Bradford peacefully passed from this life at her residence in Janesville, Sunday afternoon, January 22nd, 2012 at the age of 95.
Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on September 17th, 1916 to the late Henry and Rachael (Sutton) Moody, Elizabeth as she affectionatly became known was raised and educated in Ft. Smith graduating from West High School as a member of the 'Class of 1935'. She and her family moved West during the Depression years settling in Southern California.
On February 6th, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA Elizabeth married a handsome young Marine named Robert Bradford who had been her high school pen pal. To this holy union two sons and two daughters were born.
Elizabeth and Robert retired to Janesville, CA in 1988 moving here from Los Angeles. A devout member of the Roman Catholic faith she became active in Susanville's Sacred Heart Catholic Parish. An accomplished seamstress she shared her talent with other members of the church and community. Elizabeth also found enjoyment in working in her yard and garden.
In passing Elizabeth leaves her sons; Robert Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Richfield, MN, David and his wife Virginia of Rolling Prairie, IN, daughters; Anne Dhein and her husband Darryl of Waterloo, IA and Susan Murray and her husband Jim of Kilbeggan, Ireland along with her precious sixteen grand and 20 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents Elizabeth joins her husband Robert, three brothers; Ralph, Harvey, and Billy and sister; Alyce in their eternal home.
