Lula Moore Cothran, 94, of 441 Griffin Road, wife of O.R. Cothran, Jr., died Monday, April 9, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Henry M. and Lillie Jones Moore.
Mrs. Cothran was a retired Library Clerk with the Greenville County School District. She was a member of Reedy Fork Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and was active in missions work and WMU. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Faith Alive Sunday School class and the Young at Heart.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Margaret Cothran Shifflett (Robin) of Odenton, MD and Fran C. Richardson (Gary) of Greenville; two sons, Rick Cothran (Joyce) of Marietta, GA and Henry Cothran (Dianne) of Gainesville, FL: eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Jean Myers (Barney) and Frances Cothran; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caregiver, Enola Delafosse.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A graveside service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Reedy Fork Baptist Church Missions Offerings, 459 Reedy Fork Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
The family will be at the residence.
