Ruth M. Carpenter, age 95, of Monroe, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. She was born March 6, 1917 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the daughter of Elmer Moorehead and Margaretta (McBriarty) Moorehead. Ruth volunteered at Otterbein for over 40 years.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years: Clyde Carpenter; one daughter, Ruth (Dale) Short of Middletown; one son, Ralph (Ruth) Carpenter of Hamilton; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one daughter-in-law, Joan Carpenter. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Carpenter; and one brother, Ralph Moorehead.
Funeral services at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Reverend Tim Waugh officiating. Visitation at the church. Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park.
