REMEMBERING OUR WW11 VETERANS (Reprinted from the GCT in the 1940s)
Cpl. James Morgan received a promotion from the War Department since he has been across. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hall Morgan of Agricola and better known to his friends as Jimmie. He was employed by Ingall Shipbuilding Corp. before being inducted into the army January 26, 1942. He completed his basic training and arrived in England August 12, 1942 and from England to Scotland and from Scotland to the North Africian area November 8, 1942. He went through the African and Sicilian Campaigns without a scratch. He writes that they gave them a hot reception when they landed at Gela and invaded Sicily. He says that the people are friendly to the American boys and that the almonds are getting ripe in Sicily, and he surely did like them.
