Shelly Morgan Bolton, 68, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 21, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacey Parvin and Rev. Jonathan Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Whitehall United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Shelly was born on June 7, 1947, to Travis and Eloise Gordon Morgan. She was a member of the Whitehall United Methodist Church where she was a member of Disciples Sunday School Class, UMW, and Winston County Ministry.
After college, she began working with South Central Bell in Jackson, Mississippi. In December of 1967, she married Ray Bolton and moved to Gulfport, Mississippi, while Ray was stationed at Seabee Base. After returning to Louisville in 1971, she began work at the Department of Human Services, retiring with 28 years of service. She enjoyed her retirement working in her flower garden, gardening, spending that special time with her granddaughters, and travels to the coast.
Shelly is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ray Bolton; her son, Michael Brent Bolton, and wife, B. J. of Florence, Mississippi; and granddaughters, Morgan Peters of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Taylor Bolton also of Florence. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Martin of Brandon, Mississippi; and by four brothers, Wayne Morgan of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Allen Morgan and wife, Debbie, of Starkville, Mississippi; Lynn Morgan of Pearl, Mississippi; and Joe Morgan and wife, Bridgette, of Louisville. Shelly has four nephews, Mart Martin and David Martin both of Louisville, Mississippi; Tyler Morgan of Starkville; and Brandt Morgan of Louisville; and four nieces, Courtney and Emily Morgan; Allison Morgan Allen all of Louisville; and Tonya Hunt of Ackerman, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tony Jordan, David Martin, Mart Martin, Ronnie Mitchell, Jerry Pearson, Bernard Tabor, and Garvin Whitten.
