Annetta Ruth Blair, 78, of Buhl, passed away Tuesday, March 16, at St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center after courageously facing an unexpected illness with family at her side.
Annetta was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Twin Falls, to Alma Morrison, born in Hannibal, Mo., and Eugene Morrison, who was born in Denver, Colo. As a middle child, Annetta looked up to and loved her older brother, Bob Morrison, and younger brother, Earl Morrison. Annetta attended school in Twin Falls all her life, graduating from Twin Falls High School in 1949.
In 1948, Annetta met Johnnie Blair at the popular Radio Rendezvous dance hall in Twin Falls. She fondly recalled his asking her to dance. His saying, "We'd better get started," led to a dance and on March 11, 1951, they were married at the Twin Falls Christian Church. This year marked their 59th year together.
After marriage, Annetta and Johnnie set up their home on a farm south of Twin Falls. The couple welcomed their first son, Jim, in 1952 and daughter, Diana, in 1954. After the young family moved to a farm east of Buhl, they welcomed son, Bruce, in 1955 and twins, Dennis and Denise, in 1957. Annetta helped on the farm and also enjoyed working as a grocery store clerk until retiring about a decade ago. The couple moved into Buhl after the farm was sold in the mid-1990s. Together, they managed the Buhl Mobile Estates.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bob Morrison.
Annetta is survived by husband, Johnnie; brother, Earl Morrison, of Boise; and five children, Jim (Janie) Blair, of Twin Falls, Diana Blair, of Buhl, Bruce Blair, of Twin Falls, Dennis Blair, of Twin Falls and Denise (Bob) Hadley, of Salt Lake City, UT; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Annetta is already greatly missed and will be forever loved by her family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
