Mariana was born Dec. 16, 1928, to Emmett Gale and Olive Grace (Curry) Morrison at Luray, MO. At 1 year of age, she and her sister, Leona (3), came to Buhl, Idaho, with their parents. Two siblings joined them in Idaho, Margaret Rose and Emmett Gale Morrison Jr.
She began school in the first grade at Buhl, went to the Union School in Twin Falls/Curry, continued at Allendale in Twin Falls, back to Buhl, then to Wendell where she graduated in 1947. She worked as a deputy county recorder in Jerome for three years.
She married Muncie J. Mink on Sept. 18, 1949. Except for a brief year they lived in Hagerman, she has resided in Wendell since that time.
She is survived by her four children, Dr. Timothy (Hope) Mink, of Holly Lake Ranch, TX (sons, Jeremy (Nicole), Justin (Shauna), Jared, Joshua, Jordan and Jedidiah Mink); Marilyn (Bruce) Makela, of Winston, OR (sons, Jonathan (Jaime) Wallace (great-grandchildren, Audrey, Charlotte, Jane, Hazel and Jude Wallace), David (Jen) Wallace and Timothy (Colleen) Wallace; Bonnie (Tim) Meyer, of Wendell (children, Levi (Chelsea) Meyer (great-grandchildren, Elisha, Emily and Matthew Meyer) and Nathan (Kara) Meyer (great-grandchildren, Noah and Jeremy Meyer), Angela Meyer and Solomon Meyer; and Diane Mink, of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Leona Ambrose, of Boise, and Margaret (Jesse) Hawkins, of Huntingdon, TN; and a brother, Emmett (Yvonne) Morrison, of Phoenix, AZ.
She has enjoyed working as a Boy Scout den mother, PTA room mother, 4H leader, Sunday School teacher, bus driver for 11 years, drill team adviser, secretary for the Living Waters Presbyterian Church in Wendell for more than 40 years, PEO member, wife and bookkeeper for her husband (M.J. Mink Construction Company).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Muncie, in 1988; parents, Gale and Olive Morrison; nieces, Carol Ambrose and Macie Hawkins; and a nephew, David Hawkins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Demaray Funeral Service, Wendell Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Living Waters Presbyterian Church in Wendell. A private family committal service will take place at the Wendell Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Living Waters Presbyterian Church, 821 E. Main St., Wendell, ID 83355.
