Imogene Duplissey Butter Mouhot
Imogene (Jean) Duplissey Mouhot, 74, of Lake Charles, born Feb. 15,1932, passed away Thursday, March 9, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Mouhot was born and reared in the Clearwater/Turkey Creek area of South Central Louisiana. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, gardening and sitton in her porch watching her hummingbirds.
She worked for 35 years at Shay's/Harry's Restaurant. She will be remembered for raising her five children, basically as a single parent. She was a member of Topsy Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Q. and Della Duplisssey; husband Harry R. Mouhot; loving daughter, Vicky E. Dartez; companion chihuahua, Tutsie; and several friends and relatives.
She is survived by her daughter, Aquilla M. Young and husband John; and three sons, Lionel Butter, Larry Butter, Sr. and wife Brandy, all of Ragley, and Robert Butter of Lake Charles; one brother, Billie Duplissey and wife Ann of Leesburg, Va; granddaughters, Jodi Poissot, Stacy Moore, Denise Moore, Angela Williams, Melissa Minvielle and Myria Butter; grandsons, Larry Butter, Jr., Ryan Butter, Brent Brame, Brandon butter, Dustin Butter and Derek Butter; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Butter, Jr., Ray Butter, Brent Brame, Brandon Butter, Dustin Butter, Alan Poissot-Aternates (Christopher Poissot, Charles Young).
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 13, at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel of Moss Bluff. The Revs. Lloyd Carroll and Glenn George will officiate. Interment will be in Butters Cemetery.
