Joseph Benjamin "Ben Moxley Jr., died March 10, 2006 at the age of 71 in a local hospital after an extended battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 8, 1934 at Troy, Ala., Ben was the son of the late Joseph Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth Brassell Moxley.

He is survived by his wife, Loxla, Ardmore; sons, Joel and his wife, Jenny, Missouri City, Texas, Jon and his wife, Carol, Aledo, Texas; and beloved by his grandchildren, Spencer, Denton, Sydney and Ruben.

Ben, also affectionately known as "Coon" by his many friends, was a 1952 graduate of Ardmore High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete. He went on to play college baseball for Southeastern State College at Durant, where he met his lifetime love, Loxla Cockrell. They were married at Aug. 26, 1956 at Eagletown.

After honorably serving his country in the army security agency, Ben spent the majority of his career as a cattle rancher on the Battle Springs Ranch in Love County.

In lieu of funeral service or visitation the family will have a private gathering at home.

If anyone wishes to honor Ben's memory, the family request donations be made in Ben's name to the Clothes Closet program at First United Methodist Church, 501 W. Main St., Ardmore, OK 73401.
