Jessie May Moxley was born in Madison Wisc. In her early childhood the family moved to Boone, Ia., making her home there until October 16, 1900, when she was united in marriage to S.A. Burge of Cedar Rapids, Ia., where they lived until Sept 1908. Then they made a trip south, going to Oklahoma, but on the advice of doctors, they went noth, leaving Oklahoma City in February, 1909, locating in Miller S.D. The climate of the north was too severe and on October 5, 1909, they returned to their home in Cedar Rapids, with the hope that home surroundings, with care, would restore her to health, but in spite of all medical skill could do she gradually failed and passe away March 1, 1910. Before her marriage she was a successful teacher of music. She received her musical education at Drake University in Des Moines. She leaves behind to mourn her loss, husband, mother Mrs A.R. Moxley, one siter Mrs C.H. Dillworth of Glenn Ulm N.D. and three brothers R.R. and John Moxley of Boone and William Moxley of Eugene OR. Funeral services were held at the home in Cedar Rapids and interment was made in the Boone cemetery beside her father.
