CASCADE, Iowa - Virginia E. Aitchison, 82, of 1200 Fifth Ave. S.E., Cascade, died at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Cascade Community Presbyterian Church, with burial in Cascade Community Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today and after 11 a.m. Monday at Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade.
Mrs. Aitchison was a registered nurse for many years in Monticello and Dubuque.
She was born on Jan. 26, 1917, in Anamosa, daughter of John and Berdina (Morse) Mundell. She married Adrian Aitchison on Feb. 25, 1941, at Center Grove Church, Dubuque.
She was a graduate of Cascade Community Schools. She received her registered nursing degree at the former Finley School of Nursing, Dubuque. She was a member of Cascade Community Presbyterian Church, and was the church organist for many years. She was also a member of Cascade Presbyterian Women's Club; Cascade Oak Grove Country Club; and the Daughter's of the American Revolution.
Surviving are her husband, Adrian Aitchison, of Cascade; two daughters, Patsy (Tom) Stoen, of Valley City, N.D., and Susan Aitchison, of Tracy, Calif.; a son, Tom (Sue) Aitchison, of Hudson, Wis.; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Mundell; and a sister in infancy.
A Virginia E. Aitchison Memorial Fund has been established.
