Helen M. Boord, 98, of Carmichaels, Pa., died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa.
She was born June 11, 1903, in Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., daughter of the late Edward Theodore and Rosa Arizona Donham Mundell.
She lived in St. Petersburg, Fla., for 11 years before returning to Carmichaels in 1985. She had lived in the Carmichaels area most of her life.
She was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church since 1917, Carmichaels Grange No. 1389 since 1947, and Greene County Pomona Grange No. 63.
She is survived by a son and spouse, Edward R. and Evelyn Boord of Carmichaels; a daughter and spouse, Virginia and Harry Schiffbauer of Carmichaels, with whom she made her home; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Russell Boord, on Dec. 2, 1986; two daughters, Betty Rose Boord, in childhood, and Marjorie Lutes Tabor; a son, James A. Boord; a grandson, Scott Edward Boord; a brother, Clyde S. Mundell; and a sister, Grace A. Davies.
Friends may call at Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 S. Vine St. (Pa. 88), Carmichaels, from 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, with Carmichaels Grange No. 1389 holding a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, with Pastor Frank Vucic officiating.
