Mrs. Alice M. Crooks, age 80, who lived at 1223 Wayne St., Noblesville passed away Saturday evening in Riverview Hospital following an illness of one week. She was the wife of former Hamilton County auditor Charles S. Crooks. Mrs. Crooks was born west of Arcadia Aug. 18, 1878, daughter of James and Lydia (Little) Mundell. She lived in the Arcadia Community in her early life and later lived a number of years west of Cicero. For the past 16 years she had lived in Noblesville. She and Charles S Crooks were married in 1902 and he survives her .She taught school in and near Arcadia in the grade schools for six or seven years. Mrs. Crook was a member of the First Methodist church of Noblesville and of the Eastern Star Lodge of Cicero. Survivors besides her husband, include six children; Dr. Donald M Crooks of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Era Stark of Carmel; Mrs. Gladys Good of Cicero; Mrs. Leatha Thoren of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Mary Pritchard of Bryan, Texas, Charles Crooks Jr., of Minneapolis, Minn; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Mildred Snyder of Cicero; Mrs. Ethel Spidel of Atlanta, and one brother, Vern T. Mundell, Ohio.
