Dorothy Naumann Busby, 84, of Boerne passed away September 8, 2009 after a lengthy stay at the CareChoice Nursing Facility in Boerne, Texas. She was born May 14, 1925 in Smithville, Texas. She married Bille F. Busby on March 8, 1946, and they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in 2009. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She is preceded in death by her Parents Willie and Laura Naumann of Smithville, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Bille Busby; son Rusty Busby and wife Janice of Boerne; Grandson Brett Busby and wife Erin of Houston, Texas; Great-Granddaughter, Katie Busby; Great-Grandson, Will Busby; brother, Fritz Naumann and wife Martha of Houston, Texas; two nieces, Kay Ratto and Beth Naumann of Oakland, California. She had a wonderful career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Secretary and retired in 1978. Dorothy and Bille moved to the Boerne area in 1973 where they were partners in small ranching operation. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. After retirement, she became very active in the community having served as president of the following organizations. Kendall County Fair Association Auxiliary, Boerne Area Historical Preservation Society, Friends of the Boerne Public Library, The Green Things Garden Club and The Boerne Reading Club. She was Co-Chairman and founder of Omas Christmas Fair at the Kendall County Fairgrounds, served as a Docent at the Kuhlmann-King Historical House, and served on the Kendall County Historical Commission. She was a Charter Member of the Boerne Public Library Foundation Inc. Board, and was recognized as a Board Member Emeritus in 2001. In 1992 she was given The Volunteer of the Year Award by the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:00P.M. at the First United Methodist Church of Boerne. Interment will follow at the Boerne Cemetery.
