Born March 14, 1921, in the Center Hill Community of southern Atoka County, she was the daughter of Mack and Ola Ann Wheeler Needham. She attended school at Lone Star. She married Grady Horton in 1941 in Sherman, Texas and was of the Christian faith. An accomplished seamstress, she worked at Seamprufe, later Komar and Sons, and after retirement did alterations for many people in McAlester and surrounding communities. Survivors include her daughter, Dolores McElhany and husband, Marshall, of Hartshorne; her son Philip Horton and wife, Julie, of McAlester; granddaughters, Alex Praytor and husband, Jantzen, and Addison Horton, of Broken Arrow; grandson, Cody Horton, of McAlester, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a very special niece, Jill McBee. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Grady Horton, and her sisters, Wilma Stanley, Evelyn White and Verna Scott. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Center Hill Cemetery in Atoka County. Arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory of McAlester.
