Mag or Maggie as she was known loved to kiss and hug. She loved the sugar, be it white or brown, she got from the greatgrandkids. She loved fried chicken. One Christmas Eve three generations was cooking the Christmas dinner at our house and she had been washing the dishes as they were used. My Mother wanted to use the one cup measure and Mag said I don't think it is a cup any more as many times as I have washed it! She was a great cook. Maggie loved to quilt and piece blocks. She pieced a quilt for each of the grandchildren. She is buried next to her husband, William Oscar Johnson. Maggie raised a garden every year. She loved tomatoes best. One year when the children were small, they raised a few hogs on watermelons they had so many. She said those hams was the best she had ever eaten. She always canned the fruit of the land also. She nurtured a grape arbor that the grandchildren must not play near or touch, throwing green grapes was a sin! Mag loved her flowers. She had a green thumb and could raise anything. Her flowers were food for the soul. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Her friends were the flowers of life. She was a wonderful grandmother.
