Born in Warsaw, Minnesota and was called home at the age of 98 from her home in Peoria, Arizona. She was formerly from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Laura was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Nelson and Rollin Bigham; brothers, Claude, Paul, Donald and sisters, Olive, Ruth, Thelma, Marie and Vera. Laura graduated from "Old" Central High School in Minneapolis and took teacher's training. In the late thirties, she picked strawberries and raspberries in Hopkins and was one of the best. In the early forties, she went to work in the men's clothing department at Donaldson's, then during WWII, she worked for the Railroad Express Agency sorting shipments. She then went to work for Fanny Farmer Candies in Dayton's and finished her working career as a short order cook in the food shop in the Western Union building. Laura was very active in the Senior Citizens Club in New Brighton.
