Hazel Agnes Nelson was born February 28, 1926, in rural Alvarado, MN to Arthur and Lillian (Vary) Nelson. Hazel was raised in rural Stephen and later married Harry C. Anderson on April 14, 1948, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Stephen. They made their home on the farm in rural Stephen.

Hazel loved to bake, listen to music, paint landscape pictures, travel, and crochet afghans and doilies.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; Children: Arlan Anderson (Nancy Alexander), Grand Forks, ND; Anita Hendrickson, Thief River Falls; Renae (Jim) Seibel, Thief River Falls, Mary (Brad) David, Zimmerman, MN; Cindy (Blaine) Paschke, Forest Lake, MN; Greg (Dorinda) Anderson, Fergus Falls, MN; Grandchildren: Shawn (Tina) Anderson; Jon (Sara) Hendrickson; Ryan Hendrickson; Jeremy (Shannon) Seibel; Dana (Lance) Woinarowicz; Alissa (Terry) Pracht; Sara Paschke (Fiancé Brad Aho); Andrew (Megan) David; Jessica (Dan) Paschke; Ashley David; Kalie Anderson; and Josh Anderson; Great-grandchildren: Hunter and Trevor Anderson; Raydon, Ayla, and Ty Woinarowicz; Samuel and Greta Hendrickson; Cole Milz and Logan Seibel; Nicolas, Natalie, Nolan, Neven, and Noella Pracht; Danica and Kendra Paschke; McKenna and Madelyn David; Sister: Alice Knutson; Brothers: J. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Red River Valley Hospice, or the American Heart Association.

Funeral Services: Friday, April 25, 2014, at 2:00 PM at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Stephen, MN

Visitation: From 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM with a 1:00 PM Rosary Service, prior to funeral services on Friday, April 25 at St. Stephen's

Interment: Friday, May 2, 2014, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN
