She was born June 1, 1912, in Loveland, Colo. to Edward and Winifred Nero. She graduated from Gooding High School and from St. Alphonus School of Nursing in 1933.
June and her husband, Roy, spent their lifetime farming in the Gooding area. June was an active supporter of 4-H, encouraging her children and grandchildren with a wide variety of projects. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking. She loved to sew and crochet. She was an avid supporter of high school athletics. The student athletes gave Grandma Graves a special plaque in recognition of her support in 1978-86. One of her greatest pleasures was to be involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Gooding Methodist Church, Extension Clubs where she served in every office, both local and district, Northern Lights Club, and Gooding Grange. She served as a Gooding County Leader correspondent and on the Election Board for a number of years.
June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy, her sister, Teresa Wells, and brother, Charles Nero.
She is survived by her brother; three children; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Demaray's Funeral Chapel in Gooding. A celebration of June's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at the Methodist Church in Gooding with burial to follow in the Elmwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in June's name to the Gooding County Memorial Hospital Foundation.
