RED LION Elizabeth M. (Ness) Ferree, 87, formerly of Red Lion, died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday at Leader Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dallastown, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Henry Denton Ferree.

A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Red Lion Cemetery on East Gay Street in Red Lion. There will be no viewing. The Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ferree was born July 14, 1907, in York Township. She was the daughter of the late Emanuel G. and Elenora C. (Lentz) Ness.

Mrs. Ferree was a cigar maker at J.C. Winters and Wolf's Cigar factories and worked in the finishing department of the former Red Lion Cabinet Co. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion.

Mrs. Ferree is survived by a son, Eugene L. Ferree of York; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Bessie Ness of Dallastown.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Lester R. Spies, pastor of St. Paul's (Mount Pleasant) Lutheran Church in Rinely.
