Bernie passed away at his home on November 23, 2013. Born in Sparta, WI to Raymond and Bobbi Bien Ness (deceased) on July 26, 1935. Graduated from Sparta High School in 1953 and earned a BS from Wisconsin State College, La Crosse in 1963. Married to Norma Jean Flock Ness (deceased) for 36 years. Survived by five children; Steven (Linda), Marshall (Kristine Sabota), Kathryn (David) Graham, Daniel, and Jennifer (Nick) Haney; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Bernie enlisted in the US Navy in 1953 and retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1984 from the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Stead. He worked for the State of Nevada OSHA Training Division for 11 years, after he fully retired to travel and visit friends in the US and around the world.
