YORK/FROSTPROOF, FL Mr. Carl A. "Pete" Ness died on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at his winter residence in Frostproof. He was born on January 30, 1936, in York, to Lloyd and Ruth Ness. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Pete was a retired appliance technician, having worked for Sears, and he was of the Baptist faith. Pete is survivied by his wife, Sharon A. Ness; children, Karl Ness and wife, Verna of San Antonio, Texas, Donna Gonzalez and husband, David of Pembroke Pines, Fla., and Douglas Ness of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; stepchildren, Steven Stockbower and Leslie Stockbower, both of York; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sister, Brenda Giuffrida, and brother, Larry Ness, both of York. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Patricia and Michael. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at Normandie Ridge Chapel.
