Carl H. Ness passed away at home on August 16, 2012. Carl was a well loved family member who will be missed by friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Ness and her finace Ross Webster, Carl's partner of 24 years Kathy Shearer of Sedro Woolley. Their grandsons Kyle and Todd Hoagland, parents Keith and Christy Hoagland of Mount Vernon and Mark Sloan, his hunting parther Ken Moore (Kathy's brother). He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews and his brother Jerry Ness, wife Evelyn and nephews Gary and Greg Ness of Mount Vernon.
Carl and I moved to Sedro Woolley 5 years ago, with the help of grandsons and their parents and Carl absolutely loved it up here. Kyle and Todd worked for him the first summer we were here and Carl loved to regale them with tales of his years working at Northern State Hospital, his years in Merchant Marine, fishing the Skagit River and commercial fishing in Alaska. He spent seventeen years in the Labor's Union, worked construction and told them many hunting and fishing tales.
Memorial service will be held Sun., August 26 at 2 pm at the home of The Benson's, 19357 Kanako Lane, Mount Vernon.
