Estherville – Services for Mrs. Gunvor Anderson, 83, formerly of Wallingford, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Aug.31, 1987 at her home.
Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville 3-9 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born May 29 [?], 1904 in Stavanger, Norway, the daughter of Iver and Gunhild (Stokka) Ness. She came to the United States at the age of four. On Feb. 11, 1932 she was united in marriage with Chester S. Anderson at Wallingford. She has lived most of her life in the Wallingford area and moved to Estherville in February, 1987.
She was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church, WLCW, Wallingford American Legion Auxiliary, Emmet County Farm Bureau and Estherville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son Lloyd, Marshalltown; one daughter, Mrs. Gale (Marlys) Bryant, Estherville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Aadne Ness, Graettinger; Gilbert and Leonard Ness, Estherville.
