Former Prineville resident Stella Hollowell Bernard passed away on Oct. 19, 2003 of age related causes. She was 86 years of age.
Funeral service were held at Friday, Oct. 24, at the Missionary Baptist Church in Prineville. Burial followed at the Juniper Haven Cemetery.
Mrs. Bernard was born on Sept. 21, 1917 in Choteau, Mont., the daughter of Selmer and Margaret (Small) Ness. She came from Othello, Wash., to Prineville in 1960, where she was a clerk and later bookkeeper for Bank Drug Store. Mrs. Bernard moved to Eugene in 1999. She married Ottis "Bill" Hollowell, and later she married Lawrence Bernard.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and playing cards.
Stella is survived by sons Bill Hollowell of Carnation, Wash., and Kevin Hollowell of Vancouver, Wash.; daughters Karen Rossiter of Olalla, Wash., and Judi Guild of Eugene; brothers Jack Ness of Idaho, Duane Ness of Seattle, Wash., and Ronnie Ness of Seattle, Wash.; sisters Ida Holbrook of Tacoma, Wash., and Betty Rehn of Tacoma, Wash.; and six grandchildren.
