Adelaide E. Binner, age 92, of Wabasha, died Sunday evening, October 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha.

She was born January 9, 1920 in Urne, WI, the daughter of William and Oveida (Johnson) Ness. She married Franklin Binner October 19, 1940 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. She was a homemaker and she helped her husband with the farm chores on the family farm in Wabasha. She also raised chickens and sold the eggs on the farm. Her husband died May 13, 1977.

Adelaide was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha and a member of its Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member and past president of the Burkhardt-Roemer VFW Post #4086 Auxiliary and a member of the Wabasha American Legion Post #50 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and music. She especially loved her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by children and their spouses, Mary Ann Binner, Minneapolis, MN, Michael Binner, Wabasha, MN, Tom and Carol Binner, Wabasha, MN, Bob and Jolene Binner, Wabasha, MN, Marge and Jon Bergin, Lake City, MN, Joe and Carol Binner, Kellogg, MN, Larry and Kate Binner, Wabasha, MN, Cheryl and Mike Maier, Chatfield, MN, Cathy Binner (Vern Dietzenbach), Rochester, MN, David Binner, Wabasha, MN, Dan and Linda Binner, Wabasha,, MN; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Ness, Wabasha, MN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanore Arens, Kellogg, MN, Charlotte and Bob Arens, Kellogg, MN, Dan Dinneen, Mandan, ND; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin, and one sister, Carol Dinneen.

A funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Felix Catholic Church with the Reverend Patrick Arens officiating. Interment will be in St. Felix Cemetery. Casket bearers will be grandsons: Alex Maier, Jeremy Binner, Travis Binner, Patrick Bergin, Christopher Binner and Eric Binner. Family and friends may call at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha on Wednesday from 4-8pm where there will be a CCW rosary service at 4:30pm and a prayer service at 8pm. They may also call at the church on Thursday one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred to St. Felix School or to St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center.
