Mrs. Mary Compton
Services for Mrs. Mary Compton, 19, Eddyville, Ill., formerly of Rockford, who died at 12:05 a.m. yesterday in St. Anthony hospital, will be held Sunday in Arcola, Ill., with burial in Polk Memorial cemetery there.
Mrs. Compton, who had been visiting her mother, Mrs. Emily Crawford, 514 Park avenue, was admitted to the hospital as a medical patient Nov. 15.
Born Jan. 11, 1927, in Fordson, Mich., Mrs. Compton attended schools in Oakland, Ill., and Rockford. She was married in Olympus, Wash., to William B. Compton while he was serving with the armed forces.
Surviving in addition to her husband and her mother, are a 10-month-old daughter, Janice Darlene; her father, Donald Newman, Iuka, Ill., and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob [Ben] Newman and Mr. and Mrs. John F. Houchin, all of Arcola.
