She was born June 10, 1925, in Pekin, Ill., to William H. Newman and Della May Newman.
She was married on May 17, 1947, to Chester R. Arnold of East Peoria, Ill. They resided in East Peoria, where Wilma worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 18 years. In October 1963, they relocated to San Jose, Calif. In April 1985, they retired to the Silver Lakes Resort in Helendale, Calif.
During their 62 years of marriage, Wilma and Chet enjoyed many activities together including golf, square dancing and swimming.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Virginia Wright; and brother, Wm. H. Newman Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Chester; two brothers-in-law, Robert "Lindy" Arnold of East Peoria, Ill., and Charles L. Arnold of Roseville, Calif.; also four nieces; six nephews; three great-nieces; and six great-nephews.
A memorial service was held at Grace Bible Church in Helendale Nov. 14, 2009.
She was interred in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, Ill. a short service for family and friends was held at the Chapel in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
