MRS. CATHERINE CALDER
Following an illness of one year, Mrs. Catherine Calder, aged 76 years, passed away at her residence 527 Twenty-second avenue west, on Thursday afternoon. She was the widow of the late Malcolm Calder, inspector of public works for Alberta, who died in 1923.
Mrs. Calder was born in Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, Scotland, coming direct to Western Canada in 1883 and later moving to Calgary, where she has resided for the past 33 years. She joined the Knox United church in 1899 and was extremely interested in missionary work, being a life-member of the Mission Society.
She leaves one son, Hector Calder, of this city. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock fro Shaver's funeral chapel, Rev. George A. Dickson officiating, following which interment will take place in the Union cemetery.
