She was the eldest of four known children born to Hugh Nisbet and Elizabeth Morton in Scotland. She came to Canada with them and her three siblings in 1820. They settled on a farm in Wentworth County in Beverly township near the hamlet of Troy.
She married William Boston of Lobo township, in Middlesex County, about 1831 at her Nisbet home. They had seven known children in Lobo twp., Peter, John, Eliza, Robert, William Jr. James and Margaret.
