Mary was the 6th child of Richard Northcott and Hannah Braund.
She immigrated here with her family in 1850, when she was just 8 years old.
On November 4, 1860 she was united in marriage to William H. Coles. They were the parents of three sons. William passed away in 1889.
On August 26, 1905 she was united in marriage to Levi Brownell.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands, one son, William Franklin, four brothers and two sisters.
She was survived by two sons, Albert and Virgel of Mauston, one sister, Mrs. Charlotte Sherman of Elroy and two brothers, James of New Lisbon and Richard of Morris, MN, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
