Born in Isabel, Oklahoma on August 2, 1927 to the late Oswood and Nettie (Wood) Nowell, she was raised and educated in Oklahoma.
Courted by a handsome young farmer name Johnnie Helton, the couple was united in matrimony in Hugo, Oklahoma on September 29, 1945, a blessed union that lasted 66 years and to this union two daughters were born.
In 1952 the family relocated to the Northeastern California lumber community of Chester and shortly thereafter Georgie went to work as a clerk at the former Young's Market in Chester, a career that spanned some 28 years retiring in 1990 while working for the former Super Saver Market in Chester.
Her farming roots extended to her love of growing vegetables alongside her late husband in their garden. She enjoyed the outdoors through fishing and boating on Lake Almanor as well as camping especially spending time at Black Butte Lake with her family for over 30 years.
A very loving and positive Christian, Georgie enjoyed listening to Gospel music as well as playing guitar alongside her late husband who was a talented fiddle player. They both found pleasure in sharing their love of music with their family.
In passing Georgie leaves her daughter Judy Hardig and her husband Dwane of Chester, grandchildren; April Ackley and her husband Mike, Troy Helton and his wife Cindy, great grandchildren; Leah, Melissa, Sherill and Carolina, two great great grandsons, a brother; Ronnie Nowell and his wife Judy, sisters; Helen Abney and her husband J.D., Delia Bell and her husband Bob along with many nieces and nephews.
She joins her loving husband Johnnie who passed from this life just last year and her daughter; Betty Helton in their eternal home.
