Mrs. Catherine McCarthy, 74, a resident here for 40 years, died Sunday (Sept. 28, 1958) at Mt, St. Mary's Hospital. She had been in ill health for two years. Mrs. McCarthy was a native of County Kerry, Ireland.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Niagara Falls chapter, Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Survivors' include five daughters, Mrs, William
Hope,.Grand Island; Mrs. Robert Cramer, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Lawrence Hallahan, Vancouver, B. C; Mrs. Wayne Gillingham, Sanborn, and Mrs. John Reilly, this city; two sons, Sgt. 1st Class Timothy L. McCarthy, stationed with the U. S. Army at Cambria, and John P. McCarthy, city, and 24 grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Umferside, Buffalo and Mrs. Hannah Lynch, Ireland, and two brothers, Daniel O'Sullivan, Ireland, and Florence O'Sullivan, Buffalo. Another brother, Patrick' O'Sullivan, a member of the Niagara Falls police department, died in 1951. Her husband, Timothy McCarthy, died in 1948.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Rhoney Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
