Gerald Louis "Jerry" Ondricek, 68, of Idaho Falls, died November 18, 2003, at Idaho Falls Care Center. He was born July 3, 1935 at the family home in Orland, California, to Frank Joseph Ondricek and Otilla F. Vonasek. He attended Orland Grade School, Orland High School and graduated from Chico State University in 1958. He married Afton Della Hancock February 10, 1956, in Orland, CA. He was a school teacher at Anderson High School, in Anderson, CA. They moved to Idaho Falls where he worked as an engineer for Phillips, then EG&G Services in Idaho Falls. While working, he also built his own Tax Consultant business from his home, which continued until his recent illness. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a Cub Scout Leader and as a Sunday School teacher. He was Secretary of the Idaho Falls Chapter of National Rifle Association, and President of the Idaho Falls Chapter of Diabetes Association. He spent countless hours raising awareness of Diabetes through walks and biking campaigns. He enjoyed spending time with his family and all people, carpentry, woodworking, fishing and outdoor activities and coin and stamp collecting. He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father and by a brother, Charles Roy Ondricek. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 22, 2003, at Idaho Falls Park Taylor Ward, 5255 S 5th West, with Bishop Rodney Hillam officiating. Burial in Iona Cemetery was directed by Wood Funeral Home.
