Carmen was born to Manuel and Maria Luna. She grew up during the Great Depression, worked hard to receive her RN nursing degree, and was briefly an Army Corps Cadet.
She later became a nursing instructor at Cypress College, instilling her deep convictions for care giving and charity to her many students.
In 1954, Carmen married Pete Campos Ontiveros, her beloved husband of almost 50 years.
Carmen Ontiveros was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and community member.
She is survived by her sister Beatriz Loera; her six children-Cordelia Ontiveros, Peter Ontiveros, Jr., Maria Ontiveros, Tom Ontiveros, Patricia Ontiveros, Mathys, and Carlos Ontiveros; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pete; her sisters Elvira Salas and Esther Herrera; her brothers Antonio Luna, Felix Luna, and Salvador Luna.
