Mr. Richard B. "Dickie" Oram, 61, of Frederick, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2010, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, after a brief illness.

Born Feb. 4, 1949, he was the son of Ann M. Oram of Frederick.

Dickie attended Frederick County Public Schools. He was a Vietnam War veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his time of serving in the military, he worked for many years at the Golden Dipt Bakery.

Dickie enjoyed watching football with family and friends and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also volunteered at Goodwill Industries and enjoyed helping others by performing odd jobs.

Surviving in addition to his devoted mother is one daughter, April Oram of Germantown; brother, Walter E. Pryor Jr. of Frederick; and sister, Sheila Stewart of Frederick. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory an aunt, Margaret E. Oram of Frederick; and uncle, Lawrence "Ted" Davis and wife, Anne, of Burke, Va. He is also survived by four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret E. Davis; uncles, William B. and Richard D. Oram, and Howard E. and Charles R. Davis.

A public viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, at Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home, 110 W. South St.,--Frederick.

The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 101 W. All Saints St., Frederick. Funeral services will follow promptly at 11 a.m. with Bishop Merle E. Lyles officiating.

Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
