Walter was a captain of a steam boat and worked for Baltimore Dry Dock. His steam boat was probably a tug boat used to guide vessels through the harbor. Death notice appeared in the Baltimore Sun, October 20, 1919, p 11. Death certificate is at Maryland State Archives, Reel CR48,181, record #D35975. Walter's father Walter R. D. Oram was born in Maryland and died of consumption Nov 26, 1858 in 40th year of his age. Walter's father's death notice appeared in the Baltimore Sun, Nov 27, 1858, p 2. Walter's mother was Ann Jane Parsons of Maryland. At the time of his death his wife was Mary A. Riefner whom he married in 1887. His first wife was Emma V. Sefton whom he married December 19, 1878.
