Sadie K. Osgood Andersen age 93 of Greenville died Saturday March 29, 2008 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Campus in Greenville. She was born October 16, 1914 to Clarence and Belle Gravelle Osgood in Oakfield Township, Kent County, MI.
At the age of 4 their house burned and her father died of the flu. They moved to Greenville where she lived most of her life. Her mother later married Albert Stacey and they spent summers on the Stacey Farm on Woodbeck Lake. She graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 1932 and worked for the Wolverine Glove Factory then later for C.J. Nye Insurance Agency. On October 17, 1944 in Greenville she married Norwood V. Andersen and they were married 53 years when he died on April 24, 1998.
She was a member of the 1st Congregational Church and the Bethany Circle, Past President and life member of the American Legion Post #101 Auxiliary, Life member of the VFW Post # 5065 of Sheridan and life member of the Eastern Star, Doric Chapter of Belding.
Her sister Elda Nielsen preceded her in death in 2006 and her son-in-law, Walter Maurice in 1988.
Funeral and committal services will be held on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home with her pastor, Rev. Jerrold T. Jones officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens Cemetery, Belding.Visitation will be on Friday from 3-6 PM at the
funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the 1st Congregational Church
