Twila J. Larson, 80, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
The funeral service will be Saturday, August 3, 10:00 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church in Leigh, Nebraska, with Rev. Brad Birtell officiating. Interment will be in the Creston Fairview Cemetery in Creston, Nebraska. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 A.M. at the church with a family prayer service at 9:45 A.M.
Twila J. Larson was born June 11, 1933, in Columbus, Nebraska, to Arthur and Alma (Leffers) Osten. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church. Twila attended St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Creston High School in 1951. On February 24, 1952, Twila was united in marriage to Harold Larson at St. John's. They farmed and were dairy farmers north of Creston for over 35 years before they moved to Columbus in 1993. Twila also worked for a few years at Madison Foods. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was involved in the Fellowship Club. They enjoyed going to Husker football and basketball games and going camping. They also loved to spend time with their family and going to their grandchildren's activities.
