Lois Vernelle Hesse, age 78, of Mena, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 in Mena.
She was born June 13, 1932 in Creston, Nebraska to the late Raymond Osten and the late Marcella Johnson Osten. She was united in marriage to the Reverend Donley Hesse. She was a homemaker, and Mrs. Hesse was also in the Red Hot Hatties and was a member of The Women of Trinity. She was a loving wife, mother, step-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by:

Sons: Timothy Hesse of Mena, Arkansas Jonathan Hesse of Mesa, Arizona Daughters: Rachel Hoffland of Decorah, Iowa Sara Feuerstein of Tea, South Dakota Brothers: Arlyn Osten of Leigh, Nebraska Norman Osten of Hereford, Arizona Lester Osten of Denver, Colorado

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Marcella Osten.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Randolph Schnack officiating. Interment follows in Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday evening, March 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
