Araminta (nee Palmer) Lawrence arrived in San Francisco in 1894. She arrived with her son, Ray Palmer Lawrence. Both she and John ("Harry") Harvey Palmer, her brother, raised him. Her brother rode the rails from Michigan to San Francisco several years before their arrival. He sucessfully worked as a gold miner and painting contractor in northern California. He also did gold mining in the Klondike. Both mother and uncle successfully raised her son. Her deep family roots in North America and Europe bring a wonderful family history to her grateful descendants.
