Alexandra Papadopoulos (nee Triantafilou), age 89, of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 9, 2016.
Alexandra is survived by her son, Louis (Julia) Papadopoulos; grandson, Tommy (Tracy) Papadopoulos; granddaughter, Alexandra (Jeff) Mills; 2 great-granddaughters: Juliette and Genevieve Mills; favorite puppy, Shilo; many more relatives in Greece, Canada and New York.
Alexandra was preceded in death by her mother, Stafili Triantafilou; brother, Christos Triantafilou; father, Stavros Triantafilou; husband, Athanasios Papadopoulos.
Alexandra was a very hard working woman who retired from Arthur Winer after 32 faithful years. She was a member of Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral from 1955, and also the Greek Macedonian Society-Aristoteles. Alexandra was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was very proud of her family and home.
Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with a Trisagion Service at 5:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 8000 Madison St., Merrillville, IN at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ted Poteres and Fr. George Pappas officiating. Interment will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
