Anne T. Rutkowski, 85, of Old Forge, died peacefully on Saturday surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Stephen J. Rutkowski, her beloved husband of 65 years, who died on April 3.

Born in Old Forge, daughter of the late Umberto and Mary Mascolini Lepri Paterno, she was a proud member of the Old Forge High School, class of 1948. Anne also received her education at the Hamilton Hospital School of Nursing in Hamilton Square, N.J. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at the Hamilton Hospital, the Taylor Nursing Home, and lastly Moses Taylor Hospital, from where she retired. She and her family, before returning to Old Forge, resided in Hamilton Square, N.J., for nearly 25 years, during which time they had made lifelong friends. She was a parishioner of Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.

Anne loved tending to her flower garden, cooking wonderful meals and spending time at her cottage in Wyoming County over the years. Her family was the absolute center of her life, especially her grandson, Mark, who she adored beyond description.

Her family wishes to graciously acknowledge the staff of Moses Taylor Hospital, the Riverside Rehab and Nursing Center and Dr. Armando Sallavanti for the unparalleled and compassionate care shown unto her.

Surviving are a son, Mark S. Rutkowski and wife, LeeAnn; a grandson, Mark P. Rutkowski and fiancée, Alyssa Piccoletti, all of Old Forge; her son, Mark's best friend, Eugene "Ginky" Lesneski, who Anne regarded as a second son; a sister, Naomi Palmer of San Jose, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Peter Paterno and twins, Evo and Evello Lepri

Anne's viewing and funeral service by the Rev. August A. Ricciardi will be privately held at the convenience of her family from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, Robert J. Gillette, funeral director, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge, with interment to follow in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
