Mrs. Lucy A. Bazany, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away July 14, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on January 9, 1924 in Jamestown, N.D. to the late Charles and Florence (Cross) Patterson. Lucy married the love of her life; Paul Bazany on January 17, 1942 in Chicago. He passed away December 7, 1985. Lucy lived in Grand Haven since 1949 coming from New York. She was retired from Ermanco, Inc after 14 years of service and prior to that worked at Michigan Brass for 14 years. Lucy was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Dunes, member of TOPS Club, a former member of the Red Hat Society, member of the VFW #2326 Auxiliary, loved to play cards and have fun; especially with her family including her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also served as the Welcoming Lady at Pinewood Place. Lucy is survived by her loving family; Cheryl (Jack) De Marse & Lori Plooster both of Grand Haven, Susan (Mike) Corcoran of Kingsford, Mi., Stacie (Pat) Halloran of Norton Shores, Bruce (Kitty) Bazany of Grand Haven, Charles (Skip) & (Marquita) Bazany and Scott Bazany both of North Muskegon, Mi .Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister-in-law; Maxine Bazany of Grand Haven, special friend, Ilene Conant of Grand Haven and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Gayle Hogan, Leora Mc Donough, Marjorie Austin, Florence Sturgis, Norman and Jack Patterson. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Duncan officiating. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. Friends are invited to greet the family Thursday between the hours of 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
