Esther, 73, of rural Crystal, MI passed away on Saturday at her home. She was born to Robert and Alice (McConnell) Patterson. She married Kenneth Bogart on October 3, 1953 at the Crystal Congregational Church in Crystal.
Esther was a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Pheasants Forever, Montcalm County, and the American Legion. She loved to play bingo and to attend garage sales. Her family was very important to her.

Surviving are daughter's, Mary and Steve Vaughn of Crystal, Laurie Bogart and Willis of Alma; son, Kenneth Jr. and Julie Bogart of Crystal. Grandchildren, Chad and Denise, Micky and Amanda, Christie, Hunter Vaughn, Stephanie and Nicholas Doolittle, Amanda and Mike, and Andrea Bogart. Four great grandsons, Parker, Jadan, Brendyn, and Max. Three sisters, Alseba and Bud Perkins of Fenwick, Arlene Egan of Remus, Alena Karle of Prescott; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bogart in 2006; her parents; brothers, Lewis, Vernon, James, Alfred, Francis, and George Patterson; and sisters, Catherine Miller and Ada Sikoski.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Crystal with Pastor Valerie Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Crystal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carson City Home Care.
