Annie Myrtle Payne Baker

Mrs. Annie Myrtle Payne Baker of Skipperville died Saturday, November 28, 2009 at her home. She was 89. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Rev. W. M. Todd and Rev. Bill Hassell officiating. Interment will follow in Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday evening. Mrs. Baker was born April 13, 1920 in Dale County to the late Grover Cleveland Payne & Hettie Mae Key Payne. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Reverend William Arnold Baker, and her daughter, Brenda Ann Baker. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rhett and Sue Baker of Skipperville; four grandchildren, Sherrie and Al Davis, Dawn and Tim Hammond, Scott and Delilah Baker, Jesse and Cori Baker, all of Skipperville; one sister, Bobbie Payne York of Atlanta and thirteen great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society , 2346 West Main Street Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36301; or to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle Suite 110, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
