Ruby Nell Blythe, 83, Oneonta, widow of Fred Blythe, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at St. Vincent's East, Birmingham. An employee of 18 years with Blue Bell, she also worked for Cargile Jewelers and the old Bargain Town here. A member of First Baptist Church, she was predeceased by husband, parents Will Henry and Margie Ethel Terrell Payne, brothers Howard, Hoyt, Carl, and Cline Blythe, and sister Joyce Smith.
Surviving are son Daniel Fred (Barbara) Blythe, Straight Mountain; daughter Lynne Blythe (Rickey) Thomas, Holly Springs; grandchildren Angel Thomas ( Todd) Nelson, William Daniel Blythe, Candy Blythe (Randall) Fuller, Dwight Franklin ( Terasa) Blythe, Davy ( Vicky) Dailey, Rusty (Lisa) Dailey, Phillip (Carol) Dailey, Angie Reynolds, and Glenda Blythe Pierce, mother of William, Daniel, Candy, and Dwight, Oneonta; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers D.F. (Nell) Payne, Allgood, Charles (Ellen) Payne, Oneonta; sisters Dorothy Bradley, Trussville, and Myrle Wren, Tuscaloosa.
Services were Oct. 6 at Lemley Funeral Chapel. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, deacons and other members of Mrs. Blythe's church serving as pallbearers.
