William Peaker, one of the best known and highly respected negro citizens of this section, died at his home in New Hope on Thursday, October 11th, at the age of 69 years and 4 months. The services were held at the home on Ferry street Monday afternoon at 1 o'clock, and at Mt. Gilead's Church, near Bycot Station, Buckingham township at 2 o'clock. The Rev. L. O. Jones, of Lambertville, was in charge of the service and interment was made at Mt. Gilead churchyard.
Mr. Peaker had been in the junk and waste paper business in New Hope for many years and had many friends because of his ? honesty and high Christian character. He is survived by (unreadable word).
