Ellen Peel married Walter N. Jenkins in February 1864, then was widowed that May. After the war she married Henry Ludovic Alexander in 1866 and had six children. The family moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where she was widowed again in 1889. She was visiting her younger sister Willie E. Peel Austin at Christmas 1928. Ellen fell, breaking her hip, and died shortly after of complications.
